Proposal on Mt. Liberty in Franconia Notch

Doug contacted me back in March about his master plan of his surprise proposal on Mt. Liberty in Franconia Notch to his girlfriend Amy. He told me all about how they are avid hikers in the White Mountains. They love to hike in New Hampshire and have even hiked many of the NH 4000 footers.

So it was a no-brainer to plan a mountaintop proposal. Doug and Amy both loved a particular hike called Mount Liberty. Doug brought the vision of proposing to Amy here just as the sun crested over the presidential range. At 5:10 am on Saturday, May 27th, 2023 in the morning the sun crested over the mountains and Doug got down on one knee and proposed to her with the beautiful sunrise behind them. Amy was so surprised. With no doubt on top of a mountain is one of the most romantic places to propose in New Hampshire if you and your significant other are hikers.

After the proposal, they shared a drink together in celebration of being newly engaged and enjoyed the sunrise once more.

Doug and Amy, thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to photograph your surprise proposal in Franconia Notch. Photographing a proposal was always on my bucket list, but on top of a mountain was an experience I will never forget.
