Planning your dream wedding in New Hampshire is an exciting adventure, and creating a budget is a crucial step to ensure your celebration stays within financial bounds. You will have to decide what you want to prioritize in your wedding budget.
You’ll want to research the average cost of vendors in your area to get a rough idea of what you can expect your wedding budget to be based on your guest list and wants/needs. Once you have set a total wedding budget you can break it up into percentages. I always recommend prioritizing your venue and your wedding photography/videography.
Then other costs will play a factor in your budget such as your catering costs and attire and beauty. Catering is the next most important to budget for because you and your guests will be hungry on your wedding day and I always recommend to my couples to pick something you love to eat!

Often not thought about until the last few months leading up to your wedding day is the legal details of what makes you a married couple! Your marriage license is what allows you to change your last name and by the state of New Hampshire you are seen as a partnership and married!
Residency Requirements: You do not have to be a resident of New Hampshire to marry there.
Age Requirements: Both parties must be at least 18 years old to marry without parental consent. If either party is 17 years old, they may marry with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Waiting Period: There is no waiting period once you obtain the marriage license.
Expiration: The marriage license is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance.
Application Process: Both parties must appear in person to apply for the marriage license. You may need to provide a valid photo ID (such as a driver’s license or passport). Some towns may require additional documentation, so it’s advisable to check with the specific town or city clerk for their requirements.
Fee: There is a fee associated with obtaining a marriage license, and it may vary by town or city. The fee is typically payable at the time of application.
Witnesses: New Hampshire does not require witnesses for a marriage ceremony.
Officiants: Authorized officiants include ministers, justices of the peace, and judges.
Since marriage license requirements can change, it’s essential to verify the information by contacting the town or city clerk’s office directly. They can provide the most current and accurate details, including any changes in fees or procedures to become legally married.
Planning a wedding involves not only the celebration itself but also ensuring that your guests have a comfortable and memorable experience. When it comes to accommodations, consider offering a range of options to suit different preferences and budgets. From charming bed and breakfasts to modern hotels, your guests will appreciate having choices that reflect the local flavor or provide convenient amenities. Providing information about nearby accommodations in your wedding blog allows guests to plan their stay with ease, ensuring they can fully enjoy the festivities and create lasting memories of your special day. Thisi s also why wedding venues with hotel or inn options are great if you plan on having a bigger wedding or want your immediate family and party to stay on the venue site!
Finding the perfect wedding attire is a joyous and memorable journey. Begin by envisioning your dream look—whether it’s a classic white gown, a modern jumpsuit, or a uniquely styled suit. Consider exploring local bridal boutiques, formalwear shops, and designer showrooms in New Hampshire. Schedule appointments to try on various styles, and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Bring along trusted friends or family members to share in the excitement and provide valuable opinions. Pay attention to how each dress or suit makes you feel; the right attire should not only reflect your personal style but also make you radiate confidence on your special day. Embrace the process, relish in the choices, and, most importantly, trust your instincts—you’ll know when you’ve found the attire that captures the essence of your love story.
Bringing your wedding vision to life is an exhilarating and creative process that involves turning your dreams into reality. Start by defining your vision—consider the theme, color palette, and overall atmosphere you envision for your special day. Create a mood board or Pinterest page to compile ideas and inspiration. Next, communicate your vision clearly with your wedding planner, if you have one, or collaborate directly with vendors such as florists, decorators, and designers. Pay attention to details, from the choice of flowers to the table settings, to ensure every element aligns with your vision. Regularly revisit and refine your plans, staying flexible to incorporate new ideas while maintaining the core essence of your vision. Remember, the beauty of your wedding lies not just in the aesthetics but in the meaningful details that reflect your love story. Embrace the journey, enjoy the creative process, and watch as your wedding vision comes to life in a celebration that is uniquely yours!
