Elopement in New Hampshire at Russell Pond – Ruthie and Xavier

Ruthie and Xavier came to me with their vision of an elopement in New Hampshire in the White Mountains last year. We originally had formulated a plan to have their ceremony on top of Mount Osceola in Franconia Notch. When the week came of their wedding we were left with thunderstorm warnings which means we had to quickly change their location.

Ruthie and Xavier spent so much time together at Russell Pond over the years that they felt this was the perfect backup plan for their elopement location. We spent the morning capturing detail shots in front of the pond while they got ready together for their perfect intimate ceremony.

They had a beautiful ceremony in front of Russell Pond. Some morning fog came over the pond which made the mountains and the view in the distance absolutely stunning. They incorporated hand-fasting into their ceremony with Xavier’s Celtic background. It was beautiful to watch them have their hands tied together in marriage before sharing their first kiss as husband and wife.

After their ceremony, we wandered around the trails at Russell Pond getting some beautiful shots of them that felt like a fairytale! The woods and roads were surrounded by greenery and large trees making it perfect for photos. We even let them enjoy a “first dance” together on the dock and even saw a duck!
